Description
English: Charak Puja is a ritual which is observed by a group of Hindu devotees. It is performed in Chaitra Songkranti which is the last day of the Bengali month of the year in order to eliminate the hardships of the former year . The devotees does it in order to achieve success and prosperity by contenting Lord Shiva .Women fast before this festival and Men devotees swing from a pole with hooks being attached to the pole with ropes thrust through their backs. You can see a manifestation in the photo I took in Rajshahi, Bangladesh on 16 may ,2023.
