| Description |
English: As I explained on the previous picture, expensive advertising was permanently painted on tiles, while cheap advertising was painted directly on the wall, on cloth or on paper. Some advertising had both painted tiling and fresco painting, like the one on the picture, which I thought was an awesome idea.
The tiling has the name of the clothing shop Almacenes Rodríguez, and a small text that reads "help yourself dismount at Gran Vía station". The painted part, which is the big white rectangle, was meant to advertise the current sales, like "two shirts, 1 peseta" (0.006 €). It was changed maybe twice a year. The ghost station is located at Plaza de Chamberí, and the entrance is free. More info here. |
