Notes | Roy Lippincott entered and won the competition for the University of Auckland Arts Building in 1921. He specified the fit-out and furnishing of his new building in detail. Over 2200 chairs of various types and for special purposes including this one (of six) were designed for professorial offices. Lippincott chose New Zealand Rimu, instead of using the preferred oak, for the interior timberwork and furniture. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
