| Description |
English: Located in Ta Luk sub-district, Sapphaya district, this temple is over a hundred years old. It is presumed that it was built in 1847. The temple features highly valuable national historical heritages such as the belfry, 2 temple halls, 3 viharas, ancient Chinese pavilion, ancient pagoda decorated with Buddha image in King Ramathibodi I era and the most famous one is a wooden library called “Ho PhraTripitaka” constructed by then the abbot “Luang Pu Um”. The library is 8 metres wide and 9 metres long, situated in the middle of a pond. It serves as a storeroom for a large number of palm-leaf Tripitaka scriptures written in ancient Cambodian (Khmer) language. The temple has long been a well-known Pali language institute. |
