English: Chafariz na Praça da Purificação, Santo Amaro, Bahia, Brazil. "The imposing fountain located in the Purificação Square was made of bronze and brought from England by one of Baron de Palma's sons in 1870. At that time a technician assembled it, which led to an invoice worth seventy thousand réis, which was only paid two years later. It was inaugurated on April 14, 1872 as part of the implementation of the Sant'Amarense Aquarium Company. [F]or the huge amount paid at the time (about 16:000$ 00 reis) it was mortgaged by the businessman, Baron de Palma, Antonio de Freitas Paranhos Jr., on his Palma Plantation.
