Description
English: Angel from an Annunciation scene; the upper part of the fresco was painted in 1541 by Primaticcio and his workshop; the darker, lower part was restored by Paul Balze (1815-1884) in 1875–6. Our Lady chapel of the Chaalis Abbey.
Français : Annonciation : la partie supérieure de la fresque est l'œuvre du Primatice et de son atelier en 1541, sur une commande du cardinal Hippolyte d'Este ; la partie inférieure, plus sombre, est une restauration de Paul Balze (1815-1884) en 1875-1876. Revers de la façade de la chapelle Sainte-Marie de l'abbaye de Chaalis.
