Description |
English: A lead alloy musket ball. The shot is Spherical .it has a diameter of 17.1mm.the ball has a cut mark and a flattened casting flash. the colour of the ball is creamy /white. the patina is poor. It is post medieval and probably dates from 1644. Musket balls are discussed in Courtney’s “Small Arms Accessories of the Mid-Seventeenth Century” (1988) and on page 202 of “Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition” by Geoff Egan (2005). |
