Chémery (Loir-et-Cher) Le château. Le château est entouré de douves sur trois côtés. Le pont-levis aboutit à une porte fortifiée avec une tourelle du XVe. Dans la cour se trouvent les restes des constructions du 13e siècle. L'accès au premier étage se fait par un escalier contenu dans une tour. A la droite de l'entrée, se trouvent les constructions plus importantes du 15e siècle, avec remaniements au 16e siècle.
L'architecture nous montre deux époques bien distinctes: une partie du Moyen-Âge et une partie Renaissance. En tout cas, il a probablement toujours été dans le giron de Saint-Aignan. Propriété d'un certain Regnault de Chemery en 1236, premier nom connu. On sait que René de Beauvilliers*, comte de Saint-Aignan, après avoir vécut morose au château de Chémery, y mourut le 8 Août 1557. La famille Husson dont les armoiries subsistent sur la clef de voûte de la chapelle, y séjourna. A la Renaissance, le domaine compte près de 600 hectares. Le château devient une simple ferme en 1729. A l'époque, la plupart des fenêtres ont été murées, pour limiter l'impôt sur les ouvertures en façade, et permettre le stockage des céréales. La famille de La Roche-Aymon conserva le château jusqu'en 1970, quand la mère du chanteur Alain Souchon l'acquit. Le chanteur le cèda à son tour, en 1981, à un ami architecte qui en a entrepris la restauration. Dans la première moitié du XIXe siècle, des maçons, en réparant le fond d'une vieille cheminée du XIIIe siècle, trouvèrent muré derrière la plaque, le squelette d’un soldat.
