Français : XVIIIe siècle
Le château de Leugny est construit à mi-coteau et domine le Cher. Bâtiment néo-classique de style Louis XVI, il se rapproche du château de Saint Senoch et du Petit Trianon de Versailles. Un élève de l'architecte Jacques Ange Gabriel, André Poirier, constructeur de la bourse de Bordeaux, en a été propriétaire au XVIIIe siècle, mais il semble difficile de lui attribuer la reconstruction du château car il est mort en 1770. Différents actes permettent de penser qu'il était achevé en 1779. Deux corps de bâtiments séparés du Château sont couverts d'un toit à la Mansart, et limitent la cour d'honneur de chaque côté ; l'un d'eux, à l'ouest, abrite une chapelle. Deux orangeries existaient autrefois dans la partie sud de ces servitudes. La façade au nord a comporté jusqu'en 1967 un portique à terrasse soutenu par quatre colonnes doubles. |
