Description
Français : Le Pays des Cordes appartient à la famille Chalus depuis le XIIIe siècle. En 1582, les terres d'Orcival furent vendues à la famille Alleguer, qui en 1659 acheta le titre de seigneur de Cordes. Yves d'Allègre commanda les jardins en 1695 à André Le Nôtre.

En 1755, Cordes est vendue aux enchères à un avocat, Pierre Grangier. Il concentrera tout d'abord ses travaux sur l'intérieur où il invite spécialement des artistes italiens à réaliser les stucs de la Chambre Bleue. Le château se transmettra par sa famille pendant quatre générations.

En 1933, la chapelle du salon Louis XV, les abords du château et le parc à la française sont classées monuments historiques.
