Forbes Shire Council owns and operates two saleyards. The MidState Saleyards are used for selling sheep and pigs. The Central West Livestock Exchange is used for the selling of cattle. The Central West Livestock Exchange is one of the most state of the art saleyards in the world. The Central West Livestock Exchange features an award winning design with a strong emphasis on OHS and animal welfare. The design incorporates the following features: Soft Floor Automated drafting system Raised buyer walkways Water in all cattle pens, with water and feeding facilities available in holding yards for special livestock sales Advanced Biosecurity Stud sale facilities on site including wash bay, with the option of ring or pen selling Advanced security with Avdata entry 24hr surveillance cameras Good lighting at livestock dumps All undercover |
