Summary
[edit]DescriptionCentral UMC wing extension lawn (1).jpg |
English: Central United Methodist Church is a Protestant church located at T.M. Kalaw Avenue, corner General Luna street. It was first established in the first decade of the 20th century, alongside Knox United Methodist Church.
The current church structure was designed during the 1930's by Juan Arellano, using the typified Gothic windows and lines as employed in other Anglican churches, with minute details of Art Deco in and out of the edifice. It was built as such as the congregation needed ample space for increasing churchgoers. The church was but largely destroyed during World War II, but was subsequently rebuilt after. The wing fronting General Luna street was built during the postwar years as well, housing a smaller chapel and a hall at its second floor. |
