Description
Català: 11 de setembre de 2007, Diada nacional. A Artesa de Segre s'han commemorat els 300 anys d'ocupació a les comarques de Ponent, 1707-2007. A la batalla d'Almansa (25 d'abril del 1707), les tropes filipistes van vèncer les de l'Arxiduc i això precipità el signe de la guerra: cremaren i destruïren Xàtiva, a la qual canviaren el nom pel de San Felipe, i convertiren els seus habitants en socarrats (apel·latiu popular que vol dir 'cremats'). Així el regne d'Aragó i el Regne de València van ser annexionats a Espanya. Catalunya resistia encara a favor de l'Arxiduc, i estava disposada a lluitar fins al final.
