CuivTURE—Sow seed from February to May in the open ground. Cover very lightly. When the plants are 5 or 6 inches high, transplant in rows 3 or 4 feet apart and 6 inches apart in the rows. Cultivate well and when large enough blanch by earthing up. An ounce of seed will produce 3,000 plants. Selected White Plume.—More largely grown than all other varieties combined. Its stalk, inner leaves and heart are naturally white, so that simply tying or drawing the soil up against the plant and pressing it is all the work or blanching required. This seed is always^rown in California, no matter by whom it is offered. Per oz. 15c., per lb. ;1.50. . PINK PLUME CELERY.—The Pink Plume' is ^practically identical with "White Plume," but with the added merit of the stalks being exquisitely suffused with pink, and possessing a rich, nutty flavor and long- keeping qualities, for which red celeries are noted. Per oz. 20c., per lb. ;2.00. Dwarf Golden Heart.—A distinct variety of sturdy dwarf habit. It is solid, an excel- lent keeper, and of fine, nutty flavor. When blanched, the heart, which is large and full, is a light yellow, making a showy and desirable variety for either market or private use. Per oz. 15c., per lb. $1.25. Golden Self-Bleaching.—For early use pre- ferred by many to all other sorts; as self- blanching as White Plume, and simply needs a slight earthing up. The entire plant is an attractive yellowish-green, and as it approaches maturity the inner stems and leaves become a beautiful waxy-golden color. Per oz. 20c., per lb. ;2.00. iant PascaI.—A green-leaved variety which developed from the Golden Self- Blanching ; retains the beautiful color, thick, solid, crisp stalks and incomparable flavor of that variety, but is of stronger growth, also larger, producing perfectly blanched stalks. Per oz. 15c., per lb. ;2. / Flavoring Celery (Old Seed). — Used for flavoring soups, pickles, etc. Per oz. Sc., per lb. 40c. CELERIAC-TURNIP-ROOTED CELERY. Sow the seed in the same way that celery seed is sown. Transplant in rows 2 feet apart and 9 inches in the row. Thorough cultivation is necessary to secure good roots. May be cooked or used as a salad. Apple-Shaped.—An early smooth variety. The roots are shaped like an apple; of good flavor. Per oz. 15c., per lb. ;1.25. PINK PIvUME; CEI.KRY.
