This course is synthetic, gathering up and attempting toformulate the principles underlying the science of education.The most important principles which biology, physiology,psychology, and sociology have contributed to the science ofeducation will be considered and their application to educa-tional problems indicated. School Administration—One Semester. The first fourweeks will be devoted to a consideration of school roommanagement; then will follow a discussion of some of thelarger problems as follows: Classification and promotion ofpupils, the relation of the school to the home and to the com-munity, the improvement of teachers in practice, the ethics ofschool craft, special schools for defective and delinquents,open air schools, the organization of industrial education,sanitary conditions, medical inspection of schools, sources ofmaterials, etc. This course consists of lectures, reports, anddiscussions.
