English: Castle Menzies A 16th century castle, restored by the Menzies Clan Society. It is a splendid example of the transition between the rugged fortress and later mansion house. It is built of local stone and decorated with blue slate. It was at Castle Menzies that Bonnie Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 and in revenge the family were thrown out and the castle used by Hanoverian forces.
