Description
English: The western end of Castle Cary railway station in Somerset, viewed from by the entrance to the car park. Platforms 1 on the right and 2 in the centre of the station are significantly longer than platform 3 on the far left, the reason for this is the mainline services between Taunton and London Paddington which call at the former platforms can be operated by HSTs. Platform 3 is used only by services between Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth - rarely operated by trains with more than four cars.
