Description

A construção do castelo de Braga remonta ao reinado de D. Dinis e o projecto foi prosseguido por D. Fernando I, que lhe acrescentou novas torres. A torre de menagem, construída durante a prelazia do arcebispo D. Gonçalo Pereira, é o elemento arquitectónico que mais se destaca com de 30 metros de altura, coroada por ameias e matacães. Actualmente, encontra-se enquadrada por construções que substituíram o antigo espaço do castelo e da muralha sobram alguns vestígios: a Porta da Torre de Santiago, a Torre de S.
