Description
English: Cast copper alloy sub-annular buckle dating to the Post-Medieval period. The buckle frame is drilled for a separate spindle. The outer frame is damaged and the buckle has a dark green patina. The object is a shoe or knee buckle and can be dated to c.1660-1720. Similar examples can be found on p.97, Whitehead, (2003).
