Title
Cast copper alloy spur buckle
Description
English: Cast copper alloy spur buckle dating from the medieval period, probably c. 13th-14th century AD. It is complete except for the bar across the place which has been broken or removed. It is composed of the buckle frame and a long triangular integrally cast plate with a hook end. What looks like the obverse is decorated with three stamped dots-in-annulets and the reverse is decorated with one central dot-in-annulet. There is a thin groove in the centre of the spur buckle, but no other surface decoration.
