Title
Cast copper alloy buckle frame fragment
Description
English: Cast copper alloy buckle frame fragment dating from the post-medieval period, i.e. c. AD1500-1700. The buckle frame is large and fragile and only half of it survives. The spindle and pin are missing. The buckle frame is slightly concave/curved which suggests that it was an ornament shoe or hat buckle. It was decorated with moulded floral openwork decoration that is composed of ribbons and lines which is very typical and often seen on this kind of buckle.
