Description

La aldea ceremonial de Orongo estaba constituída por edificios construidos en piedra con un pequeño boquete como acceso, y se encuentra en los bordes del cráter del Rano Kau. Cumplian un rol esencial en la preparación de los competidores de la ceremonia del hombre-pájaro (Tangata-manu), en la que triunfaba el primero que obtenía un huevo de Manutara desde un islote cercano.

Nunca me quedó claro si el Manutara era un pájaro fragata o una gaviota.
