Description

A actual Casa dos Coimbras, como é vulgarmente conhecida, tem nas suas origens uma construção que já em 1471 servia de residência ao deão D. Martim Anes, em 1477 ao bispo Titopolis D. Gil e em 1502 ao protonotário apostólico D. Luís Gonçalves Farto. Tendo sido adquirida em 1505 por João de Coimbra, doutor em degredos natural de Lisboa, sofreu desde então várias reconstruções, a primeira das quais levada a cabo por artistas biscainhos presentes em Braga para a execução da capela-mor da Sé Catedral. Restam hoje da primitiva casa quinhentista, algumas janelas em estilo Manuelino, que sobreviveram à demolição ocorrida em 1906. <a href="http://www.portugalvirtual.pt/_tourism/costaverde/braga/ptcity.html">www.portugalvirtual.pt/_tourism/costaverde/braga/ptcity.html</a>
