Description
English: In February 1910, Jack Johnson was arrested in New York City for an assault on Norman Pindar. Johnson's trial was scheduled to begin on March 23, 1910, and this cartoon emphasizes that Johnson would constantly be faced with various forms of judgment and punishment. Pindar did not show up to testify against Johnson, and prosecutors were unable to locate him; in his absence, the charges were dropped.
