Ihre literarische Karriere begann sie 1980 mit dem Verfassen von Kinderbüchern. 1996 veröffentlichte sie ihren ersten Roman, Fünf blaue Fliegen. Mit ihrem zweiten Roman, Kleine Infamien, gewann sie 1998 den Premio Planeta, der ihr zum internationalen Durchbruch verhalf. Carmen Posadas lebt in Madrid.
