Ritratto di Carlo d'Orleans

Materia e tecnica: olio su tela

Misure: 580 mm x 690 mm

Notizie storico-critiche: Probabilmente alla fine del xvi sec. il dipinto venne trasferito nella casa detta Casa Grande dei Giovio in Como, oggi corrispondente ai numeri civici 107-109 di Via V.Emanuele. Qui rimase presso gli eredi di Alessandro e Paolo Giovio figli di Ludovico fino al 1843, allorquando l'ultimo erede di questo ramo, Paolo Giovio, la vendette a Pietro Baragiola. Pare inoltre che egli, in quell'occasione, trasportasse i ritratti nella villa Giovio di Camerlata. cfr.L.Rovelli, 1928, p.157.

Di questo dipinto esiste una copia conservata agli Uffizi eseguita da Cristofano dell'Altissimo.cfr. lettera di quest'ultimo a Cosimo I del 23-10-1556 in B.Fasola, 1985, p.171, n.17.
