Original photoshop illustration representing Captain America's shield, as retconned by Sal Buscema in The Avengers # 71 (December, 1969). While based on the original shield featured in Captain America Comics # 1 (March 1941), this version followed a slightly different color scheme and incorporated the "three point" crest designed by Joe Simon. No copyright was violated in the production of this image. Stars, stripes, colors and geometric shapes are not subject to individual copyright.
