Summary
[edit]DescriptionCantonel Tree, Swiss Court, London (4060697445).jpg |
This is the Danish Cantonel Tree in what is now Swiss Court - in London. It is half way between Leicester Square and Chinatown if you are walking past it on Whitcomb Street. It was placed here in 1991 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation. The Lord Mayor of Westminster at the time (Councillor David Avery) named the area "Swiss Court" as a token of the lasting friendship between Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This Cantonal Tree displays the coats of arms of the 26 cantons of Switzerland.
