Català: Edifici de 1936, obra de Guillem Forteza, construït damunt l'antiga casa dels Tagamanent, després Safortesa Tagamanent, on es va allotjar la beata Catalina Tomàs. La placa de dalt del portal ho recorda. L'edifici està situat davant la plaça de Can Tagamanent, a la qual dóna nom. Pel que fa a l'edifici antic, Alcover el descriu així: és un casal antic encara que modernitzat desgraciadament. Pot esser molt bé del segle XV, ja que en té tot l'aire i les característiques primigènies. La distribució interior està trasmudada de cap a peus, tant a la planta baixa com a la de dalt; amb tot i això, en el pis principal es conserva una cambreta molt embiaixada que en té una altra just damunt, que hi pugen per una escaleta de caragol i que encara li diuen sa cambra de la Beata, que seria la que ella ocupava. Treu una finestra en el frontis de la casa. Tal finestreta se veu en el pis principal, més petita que les altes, a mà esquerra (Vida abreviada de Santa Catalina Tomassa). |
