Comenzó la primera jornada del Campeonato del Mundo de Bodyboard El Confital 2010. Los mejores riders del planeta volverán a deleitar en El Confital. Del 3 al 7 de diciembre, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria acoge por cuarto año consecutivo la última entrega del World Tour de la IBA (International Bodyboarding Association), competición en la que participarán numerosos campeones del mundo de la especialidad.

Tras tres exitosas ediciones, la prueba grancanaria toma en esta ocasión un cariz si cabe más relevante, toda vez que en ella se decidirá quiénes son los 24 bugueros que formarán parte del nuevo circuito que la IBA implantará a partir de la próxima temporada, el Top 24 GSS (Grand Slam Series), y que el director del IBA Tour, Terry McKenna, ha señalado como "el momento definitivo que el mundo del bodyboard estaba esperando".

El Top 24 GSS será el mejor circuito que jamás se haya disputado dentro del bodyboard, con grandes privilegios mediáticos y publicitarios para los deportistas que lo conformen. Y todo se decidirá, sobre la mejor derecha de Europa, en la bahía de El Confital, donde además de Diego Cabrera y Yeray Martínez (actuales números 5 y 15 del ranking mundial), los canarios Guillermo Cobo, Airam Cabrera, Ardiel Jiménez u Óliver Herrera cuentan con serias opciones de entrar en ese histórico Top 24 si cuajan una buena actuación en El Confital.
