[edit]DescriptionCamp Arifjan celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day 140120-A-DB402-860.jpg |
English: Army Maj. Henry McCaskill, Jr., the operations chaplain (forward) for the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, speaks to hundreds of service members, contractors and Department of Defense civilians about his experiences growing up in Alabama during the 1960s. McCaskill's father, Henry McCaskill, Sr., helped organize many of the rallies, marches and meetings associated with King's civil rights movement while dealing with threats to burn his home and harm his family. During his presentation held Jan. 20 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, the chaplain also expressed his respect for King as a proponent for love, equality and non-violence, and he urged his audience to mimic those qualities in their lives. |
