Summary

[edit]
English: Note: Despite the title, this is actually a photo of the Selig Zoo, operated on the grounds of the silent film studio.
Description
English:
Camels at the Los Angeles Zoo, 1920
Photograph of camels at the Los Angeles Zoo, 1920. There are seven Bactrian, or two-humped, camels in two pens, four in the front pen and three in the back pen. There are other pens, enclosed by wooden frame fences with wire inserts, but they do not appear to be occupied. There is a two story building behind the pens, and around it are several crude wooden structures. At the left of the picture, obscured by the trees that surround it and the other buildings, is a long, low house. On a hill in the background, there is a sign that reads "Newark's [...] Coffee".
