Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Callender School (1862) is a red brick, stone base, two story Italianate historic building, named for John Callender (clergyman). The building is located in a district designated on The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), called the Point, in Newport, Rhode Island. Callander School was purchased from the city in 1979 by Mr. and Mrs. William E. Boggs. In 1980, American architect George Ranalli created an award-winning design for the adaptive reuse of the interior of the building as a multiple residence dwelling, and he also completed a historic restoration of the building exterior.
