English: This is the 1836 California Lone Star Flag. It was raised in a revolt against the Mexican Government in 1836 by Juan Alvarado and Isaac Graham. Although their capture of Monterey did not succeed in independence for California, it inspired the Bear Flag Revolt flag. |
