Nederlands: Stereonegatief. India - destijds Brits-Indië - was voor Java een bron van rundervariëteiten. Genoemd werd al de zebu. Daaronder vielen de Mysore-, Amrat Mahal-, Ongole-, Gir- en Hissar-runderen. Het Ongole-rund kwam uit Madras, in het zuiden van India. Het is een tamelijk goed melkveeras en werd al rond 1900 regelmatig op Java geïmporteerd en vervolgens gefokt voor de melkproductie. De kruisingen met Javaanse runderen waren populair als trekvee.
