Nederlands: Slaginstrument. Het houtsnijwerk (ukiram) van de onderstellen is gemaakt in de beroemde Djajadipuram volgens aanwijzingen van het toenmalige hoofd. De versieringsmotieven vertonen een melange van 19e eeuwse Biedermeyermotieven (de plantenbak op de gender, de barung en de gambang, het bladermotief) en authentieke Javaanse ornamenten.
De gamelan is afkomstig uit de kapatihan van Jogjakarta, waar deze in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw werd vervaardigd in opdracht van de regerende patih (eerste minister van het sultanaat Ngajogyaningrat), prins G.P.H. Hadiloesoemo. Deze gamelan werd als losse slendro-gamelan voor het privégebruik van deze patih gebouwd. Er hoort naar alle waarschijnlijkheid geen pelog-helft bij. Er zijn meer gevallen bekend van dergelijke slendro-gamelans uit de Jogja'se kapatihan. De slenthems maakten oorspronkelijk geen deel uit van deze gamelan, evenmin als de onversierde gender barung, die qua klank gewoon een overbodige verdubbeling is van de wél versierde gender barung. .
