Description |
Nederlands: Perkamenten bladzijde uit de Koran waarop met zwarte inkt tekstregels zijn aangebracht. De letters zijn gekalligrafeerd in Kufi schrift en met rood zijn diakritische tekens aangebracht. De puntjes die de verschillende medeklinkers aangeven zijn als dunne schuine streepjes getekend. De pagina is slechts aan één zijde beschreven.
De tekst is soera 16:61(tweede helft)-65 en handelt over het Laatste Oordeel. De vertaling luidt "Maar Hij geeft hun uitstel tot een vastgestelde termijn... God laat uit de hemel water neerdalen om daarmee de aarde te doen herleven nadat zij dood was. Daarin is werkelijk een teken voor mensen die horen." (vertaling Leemhuis) Volgens de verkoper is de pagina uit Egypte afkomstig, dit is echter niet bevestigd. Op grond van stijl en uitvoering is de pagina te dateren als 10e eeuws. |
