Description |
Nederlands: Deze kruik dient om water koel te houden en uit te schenken. De bewoners van een huis hebben over het algemeen een gemeenschappelijke kruik waaruit water of melk wordt geschonken in kopjes of kommetjes.
De aangebrachte motieven zijn kenmerkend voor Berberaardewerk, nl. geometrische patronen gevormd uit driehoeken, vierkanten, ronde vormen, banden en lijnen. Deze geometrische patronen hebben vaak een magisch-religieuze betekenis. Het voorwerp komt vermoedelijk uit de plaats Maatkas. Dit is een van de bekendste plaatsen in Kabylië (Algerije) waar aardewerk met de hand wordt vervaardigd. |
