English: GREAT LAKES, Ill. (March 19, 2016) – Chief Logistic Specialist Neisi Ebarb judges a display by Proviso West (Hillside, Ill.) High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) cadtes explaining their SeaPerch underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) at the USS Indianapolis Combat Training Pool at Recruit Training Command (RTC) here March 19. More than 70 schools and more than 450 students participated in the event held for a second year in a row at RTC. The event also included five Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) units from the Chicago area. SeaPerch is an underwater robotics program developed by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to provide students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics while building an underwater ROV as part of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum.
