| Description | Police departments are strongly attached to rear wheel drive, and if not GM or Ford land-barges, then pony cars were the only other game in town that wasn't really a truck dressed up with multiple rows of seats. So a certain number of Highway Patrol cruisers were Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds. No room for perps in the back, really, so no bars on the windows, or dividers. I wouldn't want to have to stuff a handcuffed suspect into the back seat of any of those 3 vehicles, much less pull them out at the station. But for "Protect and Serve" cruising on highways, with a minimum of crime in buildings and outdoors, these would be fine. Looks nice in uniform too. |
