Object history
Français : Adoptées en 1922, ces armoiries rappellent par leur croix que Gryon fut un fief de l'Abbaye de St-Maurice jusqu'à la fin de l'ancien régime. Les haches évoquent l'audace des gryonnais, qui abattirent à coups de cognées les pieux marqués à l'effigie de l'ours que leurs Excellences de Berne avaient fait planter pour délimiter et s'approprier les forêts à la fin du XVIIe siècle.
