Français : Situé au N-O de l'agglomération valenciennoise en lisière du PNR Scarpe-Escaut et l'A23, le centre d'essais ferroviaire lancé en 1999, s'étend sur 50 ha répartis à travers les communes de Raismes et Petite-Forêt.
Propriété d'Alstom avec une participation de l'agence Certifer et son grand rival local Bombardier, qui possède de l'autre côté du pôle urbain nordiste son site de production de Crespin vers la frontière belge (ex-ANF, Blanc-Misseron). Hautement sécurisé, le CEF permet de tester tous types de matériels, tant urbain qu'interurbain (métros, trams, tram-train, rames régionales...) sur plusieurs voies jusqu'à 110 km/h, ainsi que les composants annexes comme le pilotage automatique (technologie type VAL), signalisation ou encore alimentation électrique. Les installations fournissent au choix, les 5 grandes tensions présentes à l'échelle internationale:
En 2012 est livrée l'annexe de Tronville en Barrois, Meuse, permettant de tester le matériel lourd fret, ainsi que les rames grandes lignes jusqu'à 160 km/h. La boucle nordiste est l'une des 3 en service sur le continent européen, avec ses homologues allemande de Wildenrath, à l'ouest de Mönchengladbach et Cerhenice en Tchéquie. Il est prévu dans un proche avenir, de développer l'infrastructure en l'ouvrant à l'ensemble des acteurs de cette filière en pleine mutation, comme en atteste le rapprochement Alstom-Siemens survenu à l'automne 2017... |
