Jason Frias, 455th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Critical Care Air Transport Team critical care nurse deployed from the 60th Medical Group at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., checks in equipment bags for supplies during an aeromedical evacuation mission aboard a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Aug. 9, 2015. The 455th EAES’ CCATT is a three-person, highly specialized medical team consisting of a physician who specializes in an area of critical care or emergency medicine, a critical care nurse and a respiratory therapist. The CCATT is charged with providing critical care to the sick and wounded as they are moved thousands of miles onboard U.S. cargo aircraft to receive full-time care elsewhere.
