[edit]DescriptionCBP Suicide Prevention Month Event (21500275351).jpg | The band “Rockers Behind the Badge” perform at the Suicide Prevention event held at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC. Each year in September, CBP observes Suicide Prevention Month. This year, the Office of Human Resources Management and the Office of Field Operations are co-sponsored a Suicide Prevention event called “CBP Rocks the Message: It’s OK to Call.” The key message of the event was “It’s Ok to Call” the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) when dealing with personal problems. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the warning signs of suicide and to let employees know that leadership supports them when seeking assistance for personal issues. The event was held on September 16, 2015 from 3-5pm (EST) at the Ronald Reagan Building in the Woodrow Wilson Plaza. The Deputy Commissioner kicked off the event with opening remarks, and CBP’s Assistant Commissioners and the Chief, U.S. Border Patrol also spoke at this event. Additional expert speakers from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the International Associate of the Chiefs of Police. This event included a performance by an all law enforcement band that was comprised of CBP/ICE employees, including CBP’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations. The band, “Rockers Behind the Badge,” promotes suicide prevention awareness through their lyrics. Photo by James Tourtellotte |
