Place of creation London: Gowans & Gray, Ltd, 5 Robert Street, Adelphi, W. C.; Glasgow: 50 Cadogan Street. Glasgow: Carson & Nicol, Printers; Edinburgh: Blocks by Hislop & Day. Sixty plates of photographs. With three pages of publisher’s titles bound at the end.
Notes On the half title page: “Gowans Nature Books, No. 9”.A list of twenty books in this series is bound at the front. On the title page verso: “First Edition, November 1906. Reprinted, May 1907, April 1908 (completing 20,000).” The photographs are printed on coated art paper. de Beaumont has noted on the front flyleaf: ‘[Book from:] Dominic & Family £5.00’. Glassine dust jacket over white card. There is no printing on the lower cover. The upper cover shows a group of wild flowers. The lettering is in red and in black “/ Gowan’s Nature Books No. 9 6D. each/ Wild Flowers/ at / Home/ Third/ Series/ London & Glasgow- Gowans & Gray Ltd./” Lettered in black along the spine: “Wild Flowers at Home. Third Series.” This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. Another copy (probably) of this work is at British Library shelf mark 4206.098500 [1907]
