Printed at the head of each cover: “One shilling or twenty five cents” There is a rope border, with a single shell in each corner. On the upper half of each cover, a globe is printed, which is supported by a ‘Neptune like’ figure and two mermaids. The mouth of Neptune spouts water in to a fountain shell/ bowl. Within the globe, the title words are: “/ Fish & Fishing/ in the/ lone glens/ of/ Scotland/”. At the tail, within a shell is the imprint: “/ Geo/ Routledge/ & Co./ London/ & New York. /” All is surrounded by the blue background. The spine has: “/ Fish & Fishing by. R. Knox, M. D./” printed in white against a blue background. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust.
