Place of creation London: Chapman and Hall, 186, Strand, and Joseph Cundall, 12, Old Bond Street. [London:] C. Whittingham, Printer, Chiswick. 1847. Unpaginated
Notes The title page is headed: “Home Treasury Series”. Red ink edges. Text sewn on one sawn-in cord. Stiff green pictorial paper wrappers. The cover design is derived from a Holbein design for a silver binding. De Beaumont has kept nine other bookseller descriptions of this work, from 1977 to 2009. He has noted: “[Book purchased from] John 2.76 £12” Yellow endpapers and pastedowns. Robin de Beaumont’s small square bookplate is on the upper cover verso. The design is the same for both covers. At the head and tail of each cover are: “/ The Home Treasury/ Chapman and Hall/” with the words: “Fables Histories Ballads Tales” on the sides. The word “Whittington” is on the centre of each cover and also along the spine. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. Another copy (probably) of this work is within the thirteen volumes of this series at British Library shelf mark 1210e23-35
