|notes =  White paper over boards. White endpapers and pastedowns. De Beaumont has noted: “[Book purchased 2 78. £2 ECB 1878” Both endpapers and pastedowns have lists of publisher’s titles. The lower cover has and advertisement for “Judson’s Dyes Cheapest, Strongest, Brightest, Best” The upper cover has electric rays, in red and yellow, radiating out from a single central white light source. The title words: “/ All/ about/ the/ electric light/” are printed in “sparky” letters. At the head is the price: “One Shilling”. At the tail: “/ With illustrations and diagrams/ London: Ward Lock and Co./” The spine appears to be of cloth, and is not lettered. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust.  Another copy (probably) of this work is at British Library shelf mark 8756aaa14.
