[edit]President George H.W. Bush speaks during a memorial service for 47 crew members killed in an explosion aboard the battleship USS Iowa (BB-61). The explosion occurred in the No. 2 16-inch gun turret as the Iowa was conducting routine gunnery exercises approximately 300 miles northeast of Puerto Rico on April 19th.
