العربية: سم بحيرة البرلس بعراقتها، وفخامتها حيث أنها وفقًا لتصنيف الجغرافيين تمثل الترتيب الثاني من حيث المساحة في جمهورية مصر العربية، أطلق عليها في القدم بحيرة بوطو، ثم تغير إسمها عبر الزمان ليطلقوا عليها بحيرة بوتيكو، ومنها إلى نيكيولوس، وبعد أن حكم الرومان البلاد أطلقوا عليها مسمى بارالوس، وبعدها سميت نسترواه، وفي الأخير سميت البرلس راجعه في ذلك إلى إقليم البرلس. |
